Unisex with a relaxed cut, true to size, S to 4XL. Garment-dyed heavyweight tee.

Journalism is not a crime. Reporters were detained, shoved and shot at with less-lethal rounds while covering protests through July 2026, and the reporter in the tee took all three in one month and filed every night anyway. Doing the job is not the offense. This tee states the baseline, five words, at the next protest.

Wear it to the protest, the press freedom rally, the newsroom, the journalism school lecture, and the family dinner where a relative says reporters should stay out of the way. It is a strong gift for a protest reporter, a press freedom lawyer, a journalism student, and the friend who filed every night.

The tee is a Comfort Colors 1717, garment-dyed in 6.1 oz ring-spun cotton, soft and evenly colored, with a heavier hand than a novelty tee and three lines that read across a protest with the press pass out. Direct-to-garment. It bonds with the cotton.

Unisex, relaxed, true to size. S through 4XL. Colors: Black, White, Bay, Blossom. Also Chambray, Graphite, Ivory, Banana. It is the filed-every-night entry in the press freedom collection.

Designed and printed to order in the USA. Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colors. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach or iron the design.

Common questions

Is this the same as the press is not on trial? Cousins. That one is the subpoena; this one is the protest line and the less-lethal round.

Would a reporters' guild order these for the rally? Clubs do. Every shirt is printed to order. Any mix of sizes, one order.

Which color do reporters pick? Black and White. Graphite for the lecture.

How does the 1717 fit? True to size, relaxed body. Order your usual.

Wear it to: the march, the vigil, the courthouse steps, the town hall.

Fabric and fit

Comfort Colors 1717: 6.1 oz 100 percent ring-spun cotton, garment-dyed and soft-washed so it feels broken in from the first wear. Relaxed unisex fit, true to size, S to 4XL in eight colors. Double-needle stitching, no side seams, sewn-in label.

Measurements for every size are on the size and fit guide.

Printing and care

Printed to order in the USA, direct to garment: water-based ink goes into the fabric rather than sitting on top, so the print stays soft and does not crack or peel.

Machine wash cold, inside out. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Do not iron the print. More on the fabric and care page.

Shipping and returns

Every shirt is made when you order it and ships from the USA. Current production and delivery times, and how returns work, are on the shipping and returns page. Ordering for a group? See group and bulk orders.
