Unisex with a relaxed cut, true to size, S to 4XL. Garment-dyed heavyweight tee.

Pensions are not a perk. A pension is deferred pay, earned across a career and promised in writing, and in July 2026 the worker in the tee was one of 1,600 PECO employees who walked out for the first time in 145 years and won defined-benefit pensions back for the people hired after her. Promised in writing means promised. This tee is the promise, enforced.

Wear it to the picket line, the union hall on the anniversary, the contract ratification vote, the retiree meeting, and the family dinner where a relative says pensions are a thing of the past. It is a strong gift for a PECO worker, a pension trustee, a union retiree, and the friend who was on the line in July.

The tee is a Comfort Colors 1717, garment-dyed in 6.1 oz ring-spun cotton, soft and evenly colored, with a heavier hand than a novelty tee and three lines that read across a union hall on the strike anniversary. Direct-to-garment. It bonds with the cotton.

Unisex, relaxed, true to size. S through 4XL. Colors: Black, White, Bay, Blossom. Also Chambray, Graphite, Ivory, Banana. It is the 145-years entry in the union and labor collection.

Designed and printed to order in the USA. Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colors. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach or iron the design.

Common questions

Is this the same as pensions are not perks? Same correction, singular, and this one was written the week of the PECO strike. The worker wearing it was on that line.

Would a utility local order these for the anniversary? Locals do. Every shirt is printed to order. Any mix of sizes, one order.

Which color do members pick? Black and Bay. White for the line.

How does the 1717 fit? True to size, relaxed body. Order your usual.

Wear it to: the picket line, the rent strike, the grocery store, the shareholder meeting you were not invited to.

Fabric and fit

Comfort Colors 1717: 6.1 oz 100 percent ring-spun cotton, garment-dyed and soft-washed so it feels broken in from the first wear. Relaxed unisex fit, true to size, S to 4XL in eight colors. Double-needle stitching, no side seams, sewn-in label.

Measurements for every size are on the size and fit guide.

Printing and care

Printed to order in the USA, direct to garment: water-based ink goes into the fabric rather than sitting on top, so the print stays soft and does not crack or peel.

Machine wash cold, inside out. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Do not iron the print. More on the fabric and care page.

Shipping and returns

Every shirt is made when you order it and ships from the USA. Current production and delivery times, and how returns work, are on the shipping and returns page. Ordering for a group? See group and bulk orders.
