Unisex with a relaxed cut, true to size, S to 4XL. Garment-dyed heavyweight tee.

Hospitals need nurses not lockouts. When a hospital system answers a nurses' contract fight by barring its own staff from the building, every patient inside pays for it, and the ICU nurse in the tee stood outside her own unit for three weeks while travel replacements who did not know the floor cost the hospital more than her raise would have. This tee names the cost.

Wear it to the picket outside the hospital, the community town hall on the lockout, the nurses' union meeting, the state house hearing on staffing, and the family dinner where a relative says the hospital had no choice. It is a strong gift for a locked-out nurse, a patient who noticed, a union steward, and the friend who brought coffee to the picket.

The tee is a Comfort Colors 1717, garment-dyed in 6.1 oz ring-spun cotton, soft and evenly colored, with a heavier hand than a novelty tee and three lines that read across a community town hall on the lockout. Direct-to-garment. It bonds with the cotton.

Unisex, relaxed, true to size. S through 4XL. Colors: Black, White, Bay, Blossom. Also Chambray, Graphite, Ivory, Banana. It is the three-weeks-outside entry in the union and labor collection.

Designed and printed to order in the USA. Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colors. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach or iron the design.

Would a nurses' union order these for the lockout picket? Locals do. Every shirt is printed to order. Any mix of sizes, one order.

Which color do nurses pick? White and Black. Bay for the town hall.

How does the 1717 fit? True to size, relaxed body. Order your usual.

Wear it to: the picket line, the union hall, the contract vote, Labor Day.

Fabric and fit

Comfort Colors 1717: 6.1 oz 100 percent ring-spun cotton, garment-dyed and soft-washed so it feels broken in from the first wear. Relaxed unisex fit, true to size, S to 4XL in eight colors. Double-needle stitching, no side seams, sewn-in label.

Printing and care

Printed to order in the USA, direct to garment: water-based ink goes into the fabric rather than sitting on top, so the print stays soft and does not crack or peel.
