Unisex with a relaxed cut, true to size, S to 4XL. Garment-dyed heavyweight tee.

Prior authorization is a delay tactic. The doctor already made the call, and the paperwork exists so someone who has never examined you can take three weeks to concur, and so a share of patients quit before the answer lands, and the nurse in the tee logs two hours a day on hold for it. That share is the whole point. This tee says so at the pharmacy counter.

Wear it to the pharmacy counter, the clinic break room, the insurance appeal call, the nurses' union meeting, and the family dinner where a relative says insurance has to check somehow. It is a strong gift for a nurse, a prior authorization specialist, a patient still waiting, and the friend who spent two hours on hold.

The tee is a Comfort Colors 1717, garment-dyed in 6.1 oz ring-spun cotton, soft and evenly colored, with a heavier hand than a novelty tee and three lines that read across a clinic break room. Direct-to-garment. It bonds with the cotton.

Unisex, relaxed, true to size. S through 4XL. Colors: Black, White, Bay, Blossom. Also Chambray, Graphite, Ivory, Banana. It is the on-hold entry in the healthcare collection.

Designed and printed to order in the USA. Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colors. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach or iron the design.

Common questions

Is prior authorization really designed to delay? Ask anyone who processes it. The nurse wearing it has the hold times in a spreadsheet.

Would a clinic staff order these for the break room? Staffs do. Every shirt is printed to order. Any mix of sizes, one order.

Which color do nurses pick? Black and Chambray. Bay for the union meeting.

How does the 1717 fit? True to size, relaxed body. Order your usual.

Wear it to: the hospital picket, the town hall, the pharmacy line, the school board.

Fabric and fit

Comfort Colors 1717: 6.1 oz 100 percent ring-spun cotton, garment-dyed and soft-washed so it feels broken in from the first wear. Relaxed unisex fit, true to size, S to 4XL in eight colors. Double-needle stitching, no side seams, sewn-in label.

Measurements for every size are on the size and fit guide.

Printing and care

Printed to order in the USA, direct to garment: water-based ink goes into the fabric rather than sitting on top, so the print stays soft and does not crack or peel.

Machine wash cold, inside out. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Do not iron the print. More on the fabric and care page.

Shipping and returns

Every shirt is made when you order it and ships from the USA. Current production and delivery times, and how returns work, are on the shipping and returns page. Ordering for a group? See group and bulk orders.
