Unisex with a relaxed cut, true to size, S to 4XL. Garment-dyed heavyweight tee.

You scanned my book without asking. Entire libraries went into training sets with no permission requested and no payment offered, and when authors noticed, the answer was that asking would have been impractical, and the author in the tee has that sentence highlighted in the court filing. Consent is not a logistics problem. This tee says it in the plainest possible voice.

Wear it to the author panel, the copyright hearing, the book festival, the writers' union meeting, and the family dinner where a relative says it was all public anyway. It is a strong gift for an author, a copyright lawyer, a small press publisher, and the friend who highlighted the filing.

The tee is a Comfort Colors 1717, garment-dyed in 6.1 oz ring-spun cotton, soft and evenly colored, with a heavier hand than a novelty tee and three lines that read across an author panel. Direct-to-garment. It bonds with the cotton.

Unisex, relaxed, true to size. S through 4XL. Colors: Black, White, Bay, Blossom. Also Chambray, Graphite, Ivory, Banana. It is the impractical entry on our book bans and libraries page.

Designed and printed to order in the USA. Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colors. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach or iron the design.

Which color do authors pick? Black and Chambray. Ivory for the panel.

How does the 1717 fit? True to size, relaxed body. Order your usual.

Wear it to: the library board meeting, Banned Books Week, storytime, the bookstore.

Fabric and fit

Comfort Colors 1717: 6.1 oz 100 percent ring-spun cotton, garment-dyed and soft-washed so it feels broken in from the first wear. Relaxed unisex fit, true to size, S to 4XL in eight colors. Double-needle stitching, no side seams, sewn-in label.

Measurements for every size are on the size and fit guide.

Printing and care

Printed to order in the USA, direct to garment: water-based ink goes into the fabric rather than sitting on top, so the print stays soft and does not crack or peel.

Machine wash cold, inside out. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Do not iron the print. More on the fabric and care page.

Shipping and returns

Every shirt is made when you order it and ships from the USA. Current production and delivery times, and how returns work, are on the shipping and returns page. Ordering for a group? See group and bulk orders.
