Unisex with a relaxed cut, true to size, S to 4XL. Garment-dyed heavyweight tee.

Still disabled on my good days. Fluctuating conditions confuse people who expect disability to hold still, so a person who used a chair on Tuesday and walked on Friday gets treated like a fraud instead of like someone with a variable body, and the person in the tee has been photographed standing up by a stranger who thought he had caught something. This tee is worn on the good days, on purpose.

Wear it to the parking lot with the placard, the chronic illness support group, the disability pride march, the doctor's office on a walking day, and the family dinner where a relative says you seemed fine last week. It is a strong gift for a person with a fluctuating condition, an ambulatory wheelchair user, a rheumatology nurse, and the friend who stopped asking why you look fine.

The tee is a Comfort Colors 1717, garment-dyed in 6.1 oz ring-spun cotton, soft and evenly colored, with a heavier hand than a novelty tee and three lines that read across a parking lot with the placard up. Direct-to-garment. It bonds with the cotton.

Unisex, relaxed, true to size. S through 4XL. Colors: Black, White, Bay, Blossom. Also Chambray, Graphite, Ivory, Banana. It is the Tuesday-chair entry on our disability rights page.

Designed and printed to order in the USA. Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colors. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach or iron the design.

Common questions

Can you be disabled and still walk sometimes? Yes, that is what fluctuating means. The person wearing it uses the chair on the days the body says so.

Would a support group order these for the march? Groups do. Every shirt is printed to order. Any mix of sizes, one order.

Which color do people pick? Blossom and Black. Bay for the group.

How does the 1717 fit? True to size, relaxed body. Order your usual.

Wear it to: the hearing, the clinic, Disability Pride Month in July, the parking lot where someone took your spot.

Fabric and fit

Comfort Colors 1717: 6.1 oz 100 percent ring-spun cotton, garment-dyed and soft-washed so it feels broken in from the first wear. Relaxed unisex fit, true to size, S to 4XL in eight colors. Double-needle stitching, no side seams, sewn-in label.

Measurements for every size are on the size and fit guide.

Printing and care

Printed to order in the USA, direct to garment: water-based ink goes into the fabric rather than sitting on top, so the print stays soft and does not crack or peel.

Machine wash cold, inside out. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Do not iron the print. More on the fabric and care page.

Shipping and returns

Every shirt is made when you order it and ships from the USA. Current production and delivery times, and how returns work, are on the shipping and returns page. Ordering for a group? See group and bulk orders.
