Unisex with a relaxed cut, true to size, S to 4XL. Garment-dyed heavyweight tee.

Blind readers deserve every book. Not the handful somebody got around to converting, not the bestseller list, not whatever the budget allowed this year: every book, at the same time everybody else gets it, without having to ask nicely and wait, and the blind reader in the tee has waited eleven months for one. This tee wants the whole shelf.

Wear it to the library, the publishers' conference, the accessible media hearing, the book club, and the family dinner where a relative asks if there is an audio version. It is a strong gift for a blind reader, a braille transcriber, an accessible publishing advocate, and the friend who read it aloud in the meantime.

The tee is a Comfort Colors 1717, garment-dyed in 6.1 oz ring-spun cotton, soft and evenly colored, with a heavier hand than a novelty tee and three lines that read across a publishers' conference. Direct-to-garment. It bonds with the cotton.

Unisex, relaxed, true to size. S through 4XL. Colors: Black, White, Bay, Blossom. Also Chambray, Graphite, Ivory, Banana. It is the whole-shelf entry on our disability rights page.

Designed and printed to order in the USA. Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colors. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach or iron the design.

Common questions

How many books are accessible? A small fraction of what gets published, and often months late. The reader wearing it has the waitlist.

Would an accessible publishing group order these? Groups do, for the conference. Every shirt is printed to order. Any mix of sizes, one order.

Which color do readers pick? Black and Bay. Ivory for the conference.

How does the 1717 fit? True to size, relaxed body. Order your usual.

Wear it to: the hearing, the clinic, Disability Pride Month in July, the parking lot where someone took your spot.

Fabric and fit

Comfort Colors 1717: 6.1 oz 100 percent ring-spun cotton, garment-dyed and soft-washed so it feels broken in from the first wear. Relaxed unisex fit, true to size, S to 4XL in eight colors. Double-needle stitching, no side seams, sewn-in label.

Measurements for every size are on the size and fit guide.

Printing and care

Printed to order in the USA, direct to garment: water-based ink goes into the fabric rather than sitting on top, so the print stays soft and does not crack or peel.

Machine wash cold, inside out. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Do not iron the print. More on the fabric and care page.

Shipping and returns

Every shirt is made when you order it and ships from the USA. Current production and delivery times, and how returns work, are on the shipping and returns page. Ordering for a group? See group and bulk orders.
