Unisex with a relaxed cut, true to size, S to 4XL. Garment-dyed heavyweight tee.

Build it accessible the first time. Retrofits cost more, take years and always arrive after somebody has already been shut out of the building, and the architect in the tee has priced enough of them to say so before the concrete is poured. Designing for everyone at the start is doing the work correctly once. This tee says it before the pour.

Wear it to the design review, the planning commission, the architecture school studio, the ribbon cutting for the building that got it right, and the family dinner where a relative says they can add a ramp later. It is a strong gift for an architect, an accessibility consultant, a building inspector, and the friend who read the retrofit invoice.

The tee is a Comfort Colors 1717, garment-dyed in 6.1 oz ring-spun cotton, soft and evenly colored, with a heavier hand than a novelty tee and three lines that read across a design review before the pour. Direct-to-garment. It bonds with the cotton.

Unisex, relaxed, true to size. S through 4XL. Colors: Black, White, Bay, Blossom. Also Chambray, Graphite, Ivory, Banana. It is the concrete-pour entry on our disability rights page.

Designed and printed to order in the USA. Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colors. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach or iron the design.

Common questions

How much more does a retrofit cost? Several times the original, by most estimates, and years later. The architect wearing it has the invoice.

Would an architecture firm order these? Firms do, for the studio. Every shirt is printed to order. Any mix of sizes, one order.

Which color do architects pick? Black and Graphite. Chambray for the studio.

How does the 1717 fit? True to size, relaxed body. Order your usual.

Wear it to: the hearing, the clinic, Disability Pride Month in July, the parking lot where someone took your spot.

Fabric and fit

Comfort Colors 1717: 6.1 oz 100 percent ring-spun cotton, garment-dyed and soft-washed so it feels broken in from the first wear. Relaxed unisex fit, true to size, S to 4XL in eight colors. Double-needle stitching, no side seams, sewn-in label.

Measurements for every size are on the size and fit guide.

Printing and care

Printed to order in the USA, direct to garment: water-based ink goes into the fabric rather than sitting on top, so the print stays soft and does not crack or peel.

Machine wash cold, inside out. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Do not iron the print. More on the fabric and care page.

Shipping and returns

Every shirt is made when you order it and ships from the USA. Current production and delivery times, and how returns work, are on the shipping and returns page. Ordering for a group? See group and bulk orders.
