Unisex with a relaxed cut, true to size, S to 4XL. Garment-dyed heavyweight tee.

Disabled people know what we need. We have run the experiment on our own bodies for years, in every building and every appointment, and the plan still arrives written by a committee that never asked a single one of us, and the advocate in the tee read the newest one last week. Expertise lives in the people living it. This tee puts the question back where it belongs.

Wear it to the accessibility committee meeting where you are the only disabled person, the public comment period, the hospital patient advisory board, the disability rights conference, and the family dinner where a relative explains your condition to you. It is a strong gift for an advocate, a self-advocate, an accessibility consultant, and the friend who asked.

The tee is a Comfort Colors 1717, garment-dyed in 6.1 oz ring-spun cotton, soft and evenly colored, with a heavier hand than a novelty tee and three lines that read across a committee table. Direct-to-garment. It bonds with the cotton.

Unisex, relaxed, true to size. S through 4XL. Colors: Black, White, Bay, Blossom. Also Chambray, Graphite, Ivory, Banana. It is the committee-table entry on our disability rights page.

Designed and printed to order in the USA. Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colors. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach or iron the design.

Common questions

Is this the nothing-about-us slogan? The plain-English version. The committee can read either one.

Would an advisory board order these? Boards do, for the conference. Every shirt is printed to order. Any mix of sizes, one order.

Which color do advocates pick? Black and Graphite. Bay for the conference.

How does the 1717 fit? True to size, relaxed body. Order your usual.

Wear it to: the hearing, the clinic, Disability Pride Month in July, the parking lot where someone took your spot.

Fabric and fit

Comfort Colors 1717: 6.1 oz 100 percent ring-spun cotton, garment-dyed and soft-washed so it feels broken in from the first wear. Relaxed unisex fit, true to size, S to 4XL in eight colors. Double-needle stitching, no side seams, sewn-in label.

Measurements for every size are on the size and fit guide.

Printing and care

Printed to order in the USA, direct to garment: water-based ink goes into the fabric rather than sitting on top, so the print stays soft and does not crack or peel.

Machine wash cold, inside out. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Do not iron the print. More on the fabric and care page.

Shipping and returns

Every shirt is made when you order it and ships from the USA. Current production and delivery times, and how returns work, are on the shipping and returns page. Ordering for a group? See group and bulk orders.
