Unisex with a relaxed cut, true to size, S to 4XL. Garment-dyed heavyweight tee.

Put a human on my case. Eligibility now runs through software that reads a file and returns a decision, and the applicant in the tee cannot explain anything to it, including the part of the file that was wrong. Nobody has figured out how to ship judgment. This tee asks for the one thing the system keeps removing.

Wear it to the benefits office, the appeal hearing, the legal aid clinic, the state house hearing on the eligibility software, and the family dinner where a relative says the computer is fairer. It is a strong gift for a benefits applicant, a legal aid lawyer, a caseworker who still reads files, and the friend who won the appeal.

The tee is a Comfort Colors 1717, garment-dyed in 6.1 oz ring-spun cotton, soft and evenly colored, with a heavier hand than a novelty tee and three lines that read across an appeal hearing. Direct-to-garment. It bonds with the cotton.

Unisex, relaxed, true to size. S through 4XL. Colors: Black, White, Bay, Blossom. Also Chambray, Graphite, Ivory, Banana. It is the case file entry on our disability rights page.

Designed and printed to order in the USA. Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colors. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach or iron the design.

Common questions

How is this different from put people back in the loop? That one is the principle. This one is the applicant asking for a name on her own file.

Would a legal aid office order these? Offices do, for the clinic. Every shirt is printed to order. Any mix of sizes, one order.

Which color do applicants pick? Black and Chambray. Bay for the hearing.

How does the 1717 fit? True to size, relaxed body. Order your usual.

Wear it to: the hearing, the clinic, Disability Pride Month in July, the parking lot where someone took your spot.

Fabric and fit

Comfort Colors 1717: 6.1 oz 100 percent ring-spun cotton, garment-dyed and soft-washed so it feels broken in from the first wear. Relaxed unisex fit, true to size, S to 4XL in eight colors. Double-needle stitching, no side seams, sewn-in label.

Measurements for every size are on the size and fit guide.

Printing and care

Printed to order in the USA, direct to garment: water-based ink goes into the fabric rather than sitting on top, so the print stays soft and does not crack or peel.

Machine wash cold, inside out. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Do not iron the print. More on the fabric and care page.

Every shirt is made when you order it and ships from the USA. Current production and delivery times, and how returns work, are on the shipping and returns page. Ordering for a group? See group and bulk orders.
