Unisex with a relaxed cut, true to size, S to 4XL. Garment-dyed heavyweight tee.

The ADA is a promise. It was not a suggestion, a courtesy or an opening offer to be renegotiated every time a budget gets tight or a lawyer gets clever, and the person in the tee grew up expecting the door to open because the law said it would. This tee expects the country to keep its word.

Wear it to the ADA anniversary, the accessibility hearing, the courthouse on the day the enforcement case is argued, the disability pride parade, and the family dinner where a relative calls the law a burden on business. It is a strong gift for an advocate, a disability rights lawyer, a person who grew up with the law, and the friend who cites the year.

The tee is a Comfort Colors 1717, garment-dyed in 6.1 oz ring-spun cotton, soft and evenly colored, with a heavier hand than a novelty tee and three lines that read across an ADA anniversary crowd. Direct-to-garment. It bonds with the cotton.

Unisex, relaxed, true to size. S through 4XL. Colors: Black, White, Bay, Blossom. Also Chambray, Graphite, Ivory, Banana. It is the promise entry on our disability rights page.

Designed and printed to order in the USA. Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colors. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach or iron the design.

Common questions

When was the ADA signed? July 26, 1990, after the Capitol Crawl. The tee is for everyone who grew up expecting it to hold.

Would an advocacy group order these for the anniversary? Groups do. Every shirt is printed to order. Any mix of sizes, one order.

Which color do advocates pick? Black and White. Bay for the parade.

How does the 1717 fit? True to size, relaxed body. Order your usual.

Wear it to: the hearing, the clinic, Disability Pride Month in July, the parking lot where someone took your spot.

Fabric and fit

Comfort Colors 1717: 6.1 oz 100 percent ring-spun cotton, garment-dyed and soft-washed so it feels broken in from the first wear. Relaxed unisex fit, true to size, S to 4XL in eight colors. Double-needle stitching, no side seams, sewn-in label.

Measurements for every size are on the size and fit guide.

Printing and care

Printed to order in the USA, direct to garment: water-based ink goes into the fabric rather than sitting on top, so the print stays soft and does not crack or peel.

Machine wash cold, inside out. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Do not iron the print. More on the fabric and care page.

Shipping and returns

Every shirt is made when you order it and ships from the USA. Current production and delivery times, and how returns work, are on the shipping and returns page. Ordering for a group? See group and bulk orders.
